Rural tourism is a fast—growing industry, and not only in Russia: in many European countries, the direction has entered the top three donors of national economies. It's simple: this type of tourism is able to provide economic and demographic stability in rural areas, to enable the long-term development of territories. Imagine: according to the estimates of specialized associations, tourist services and the sale of goods to vacationers can exceed a third of farmers' incomes! At the same time, such tourism does not require large state investments, as it is based on the use of the existing potential of the territory.

In the Tyumen region, much attention is paid to rural tourism, the Government of the region is interested in its development. The Tyumen region has rural areas with a special character and a huge tourist potential.

We want a new official term "rural tourism" to appear in Russian legislation, so that the conditions for the provision of services in this area are clearly defined. To increase transport accessibility, economic ties, preserve and develop human and social capital. So that small towns and villages of the Tyumen region receive new tools for the development of territories, replenishment of local budgets and job creation.

Making a village or a small town an independent tourist story or part of a route is not an easy task. We hope that in a few years the Tyumen Region will become an example for those who develop rural tourism - event, cultural, gastronomic, ethnographic.

Our region is really the place where everything is already there today: agricultural farms, estates, folk life museums, craft museums, peasant manufactories, wineries and cheese factories, whole "themed" farms, fish cages, stud farms, ostrich and moose farms…
